We are Caitlin MacRae and Marianne de Kleer, two friends and colleagues who share a love for France. Together we have travelled all over the world and are passionate about the connections and experiences that come from exploring different cultures. Our dream has been to create an opportunity for others to experience the joys of the French countryside - one of our favourite places in the world.

In 2000, we bought an 'ensemble' of buildings in St Privat du Dragon. In other words we bought an old farmhouse property with all the buildings necessary for farming - in our case, three adjoining houses, barn, stables, sheds, even a pig shed, (though luckily no pig!). These buildings were in various states of repair, with the main house almost immediately habitable. Every summer since then we have lived in the house and have been busy with renovations. Our buildings are located within the village, but have a beautiful, unobstructed south-facing view of the valley. The other houses and barns in the village are mostly operational farms, and the farmers take their cows out to the surrounding pastures each morning.

Since we bought the house in 2000, our families and friends have visited and enthusiastically shared in our dream, enjoying: wine-tasting, shopping for antiques at local markets, visiting châteaux & medieval churches, walking & biking in the beautiful countryside, practising French, savouring fresh produce and local specialties, and especially relaxing with a glass of wine in the secluded garden, delighting in the beautiful view.

We began workshops at our house in the summer of 2004, and we started self-catered rentals in 2005. Not only have our workshop participants and rental guests had a wonderful time, the whole village of St Privat du Dragon has embraced our concept and is very supportive. They look forward to visiting foreigners, and are truly touched that folks from around the world come to spend time in their hometown.
